| WHAT IS THE TRISOMY 18 FOUNDATION AND TRISOMY 18 SUPPORT.ORG? The Trisomy 18 Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit corporation in the Commonwealth of Virginia (EIN 77-0600393) with offices in the Washington, D.C. metro area of Northern Virginia whose mission is to provide support as well as the development of programs and services to meet the needs of families whose children are diagnosed with Trisomy 18. The Foundation sponsors the Trisomy 18 Support Online Community found at www.trisomy18support.org whose goal is to provide immediate, free, internet-based access to families seeking needed information and ongoing community support to cope with the challenges associated with a prenatal or neonatal Trisomy 18 diagnosis for their child. The Online Community supports families with children who are yet to be born, newly born, deceased, and surviving at all ages. The Trisomy 18 Support Online Community is comprised of parents and those who support these families, personally and professionally. It includes parents of all ages, nationalities, and economic backgrounds from all regions of the United States, Canada, and overseas who have themselves confronted the issues surrounding their own Trisomy 18 pregnancies and deliveries and wish to continue to support others like them. Likewise, the Staff of the Trisomy 18 Support Foundation consists of those who have also faced a Trisomy 18 diagnosis. Meet the staff here. The Trisomy 18 Support Online Community helps mothers and fathers (and other related family members) feel less isolated and more empowered and emotionally equipped to make decisions in the best interest of their unborn child and family. It is our hope that participation in this online community will help parents minimize any possible regrets about the choices and decisions they must confront so they can face the future with a more peaceful heart. The services of the Trisomy 18 Support Online Community are funded solely through private donations. Advertisements are limited to links to partner sites and methods of donations.
